Ice Sun captures winter light across a frozen lake in Oslo, where the brightness of the sun meets the cold surface of the ice. The contrast creates a distinctive tension between warmth and cold, illumination and stillness. Rooted in winter landscape and Scandinavian nature photography, the image explores light, reflection and the quiet atmosphere of a frozen Nordic landscape.
The frozen lake forms a restrained composition in which open space, reflected light and surface texture become central to the photograph. The image draws its strength from the relationship between the luminous sky and the broad expanse of ice. At A2, the frozen surface and delicate shifts in reflected light become more pronounced, giving the landscape a stronger sense of distance, depth and scale.
